James Scruggs is the owner of J.S. & Son’s Construction Company, LLC, and a visionary leader in real estate and construction. With over two decades of experience in Charlotte, NC, James has built an impressive portfolio that includes single-family homes, multifamily units, and assisted living communities. A graduate of the University of Virginia and UNC-Charlotte, he is known for his creative problem-solving, commitment to integrity, and passion for revitalizing communities. Under James’ leadership, J.S. & Son’s Construction has spearheaded transformative projects that enhance the Charlotte landscape, with a focus on quality and long-term community impact. Beyond construction, James is dedicated to creating generational wealth through initiatives like Ascension CDC, which develops mixed-income housing and provides education on financial literacy and homeownership. James lives in Charlotte with his wife, Makila, and their two sons, Jaden and Malachi. Together, they are active in their church and local community, embodying a mission to inspire growth and opportunity for all.

Samonica Ngo brings 8 years of experience in the construction industry, blending technical expertise with artistic vision. Originally from Vancouver and now based in Charlotte, she excels at transforming spaces into stylish, functional environments. As a key member of JS&Sons Construction and KDP, Samonica’s dedication to quality and creativity ensures exceptional results that inspire and elevate every project.
Nathan Presley
Project Construction Manager
A Charlotte native with over 30 years of expertise in residential construction, Nathan Pressley brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to every project. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality, he ensures that each development meets the highest standards. When he’s not managing construction projects, Nathan enjoys exploring the outdoors with his children. His hobbies include soccer, kayaking, fishing, traveling, riding motorcycles, and attending live music events, reflecting his adventurous and well-rounded nature.
Jacob Miller
Preconstruction Manager
Jacob Miller is an experienced Preconstruction Manager with a diverse background in the construction industry. Starting in Arizona, Jacob honed his skills by working on the design and development of custom homes, as well as planning and building RV parks and Storage Units. This hands-on experience provided a solid foundation in both residential and commercial construction. After relocating to North Carolina, Jacob transitioned into the Production Home and Multifamily Housing sector, successfully overseeing preconstruction efforts for large-scale projects. With a strong track record in both Arizona and North Carolina, Jacob brings valuable expertise in project planning, estimating, and team coordination to every phase of construction. In Jacobs spare time you can find him outside barbecuing with his family, fishing or cheering on his favorite sports team.
